This article will introduce you to TelePrint Application by HARN which is an app that assists technicians from HARN to track and trace status of the printers and receive signals before further damage may cause to the printer.
Getting to know TelePrint Application, services from Digital Printers
Apart from quality of the product that answers productivity for customers, HARN puts importance to developing services by using IoT to assist convenience to customers.
HARN, therefore, developed ‘TelePrint’ which is a mobile application that monitors capability of the digital printer for both A-Series and V-Series. It can be connected with the service team in regards to distance. The team would be able to know errors and glitches at real time and be able to prepare equipment for maintenance and/or to replace the parts of printers appropriately.
How would the information be transferred to TelePrint?
Service team will implant the equipment on to the printer where customers can check status of the printer through TelePrint Application via smartphones, tablets and computers where information sent including:
- Error report of the printer
- Notification supply eg. Toner
- Parameters of the printer
- Historical transaction from the first 24 hours to 30 days backwards
Using TelePrint for consumers
Customers can download the TelePrint Application from App Store for iOS or Play Store for Andriod through smartphones and tablets.
After accessing the application, it will shows factory settings which are categorized into 5 different colours to represents status of the printer where each colours refers to the following:
- Blue means the printer is ready to use
- Green means the printer is at normal status and is printing
- Yellow means is error
- Red means the printer is malfunctioned and unable to continue. Service team is needed at this stage.
- Grey means the TelePrint is Offline because the printer may be turned off or the gateway is shut down, therefore, the track and trace cannot take place.

Notification from the centre (HARN)
Customers will receive notification from HARN service team which message that customers will receive some error notices that customers may not be aware such as low toner.
Including notifications that customers can test the printer and remain online status so that the service team can monitor performance of the printer.
Send error notifications to the service centre
In the Application, tab Message to Centre which allow customers to send information to the service team at all times. Moreover, users can attach photos so that the team would be able to diagnose the problems thoroughly. Customers would then be able to make appointment with the service team for maintenance through the Application directly. No calls are required.
Checking toner level after refill or change of cartridge
Users can check toner level through TelePrint that shows 2 presetns such as
- Percentage of Remain Consumable, for A-Series, it shows toner level and make up. For V-Series, it shows remaining ribbons.
- Remaining Hours which are hours that printers can work by calculating from the level of remain consumable so that users would be able to arrange new supplies.
